IL27 and infection: The high concentrations of IL-27 in the peritoneal exudates are therefore in line with the strong expansion and parasite-specific reactivation of peritoneal Th2 cells, as well as with the prominent peritoneal eosinophil influx in H. polygyrus-reinfected mice and points to a role for IL-27 in T cell and granulocyte attraction and activation in the host peritoneal cavity during early recall responses to infection.
