Two of these antisense RNAs are located on the opposite strand of the SCN1A gene, and enhanced expression of SCN1A was recently shown in human fibroblasts of DS patients, in mice, and in monkeys by using antisense oligonucleotides directed against the lncRNA SCN1A-dsAS (downstream lncRNA) (Hsiao and others 2016). This evidence concerns the gene SCN1A and Dravet syndrome.
