KDM1A and prostate carcinoma: LSD1 is highly expressed in different types of cancer, including bladder cancer, colorectal cancers, estrogen receptor-negative breast cancer, and prostate cancer.67–69 Consequently, selective inhibitors of LSD1 have been exploited as potential therapeutics for various cancers while with worrisome side effects.70,71 Gene ablation studies revealed a complex biology for this histone demethylase, probably due to the engagement of LSD1 in multiple biological processes.
