Tu et al. found that butyl-phthalide can significantly reduce the neurological deficit in rats with intracerebral hemorrhage, which may be ascribed to butyl-phthalide by up-regulating the expression of VEGF and Ang-2 protein and increasing the density of neovascularization around hematoma without increasing the risk of hematoma enlargement. Here, VEGFA is linked to intracerebral hemorrhage.
