Only recently, Roche’s monoclonal anti-TIGIT antibody tiragolumab has been granted Breakthrough Therapy Designation (BTD) by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in combination with the anti-PD-L1 antibody atezolizumab for the first-line treatment of metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with high PD-L1 expression and no genomic EGFR or ALK aberrations [6]. This evidence concerns the gene CD274 and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
