The authors performed a broad assessment of 133 patients with the evaluation of the incidence of adverse cardiac events (cardiac death, out of hospital cardiac arrest, heart transplantation, cardiac reintervention, hospitalization, and cardioversion/ablation for arrhythmias) and cardiovascular status in stress cardiac magnetic resonance imaging with dobutamine and cardiopulmonary exercise testing, revealing no statistically significant correlation to galectin-3 plasma concentrations. This evidence concerns the gene LGALS3 and cardiac arrest.
