For these 220 patients, the mean change in central macular thickness (CMT) was −55.17 microns and the mean change in best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was 3.41 Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study letters (ETDRS letters) following 12 months of anti-VEGF treatment, indicating significant improvements in vision and macular thickness following treatment (p < 0.05 for both measures). Here, VEGFA is linked to diabetic retinopathy.
