Out of the 84 genes involved in steatosis analyzed by transcriptomics (Figure 1), proteomic analysis confirmed HMGCS2, CPT2, FABP4, ACAA2, ACOT2, CPT1A, and ALDH2 among the upregulated proteins and BDH1 and ACADL in the decreased data set. The gene discussed is ACOT2; the disease is steatosis.
