MYC and hydrops fetalis: The main findings can be summarized as follows: (1) HF diet induced the activation of specific pathways leading to fibrosis and increasing fatty acid metabolism; (2) HF diet promoted a metabolic shift of the lipid metabolism from the peroxisome to the mitochondria; (3) no signs of glomerular fibrosis were observed histologically; (4) the early signs of kidney damage seemed to be related to changes in membrane protein expression and/or oxidative stress; (5) the proto-oncogene MYC was one of the upstream transcriptional regulators that can explain the changes occurring in protein expression.
