We confirmed this hypothesis in the current study, showing that the cyclic pentapeptide cilengitide is effective as co-treatment with erlotinib, an EGFR-targeting drug that induces NSCLC cell death, to increase inhibitory efficacy against TGF-β1–induced EMT and reduce metastatic potential in NSCLC. Here, TGFB1 is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
