F10 and atrial fibrillation: Recent RCTs that compared UI-DOAC and UI-VKA revealed that the total amount of unfractionated heparin (UFH) during AF ablation increased, owing to the use of factor Xa inhibitors (apixaban, 156% [40]; edoxaban, 124% [44]; and rivaroxaban, 133% [39,42]) compared with thrombin inhibitors (dabigatran, 104% [41]), and the mean ACT was lower with factor Xa inhibitors than with thrombin inhibitors (307 vs. 330 s).
