In multivariate analysis, the factors associated with the severity of the infection were CRP > 100 mg/L (OR: 2.51, 95% CI: (1.70–3.71), p < 0.001), lymphopenia < 800/mm3 (OR: 2.15, 95% CI: (1.42–3.27, p < 0.001), and negative ∆L-H24 (OR: 3.16, 95% CI: (2.11–4.75); p < 0.001). Here, CRP is linked to lymphopenia.
