AGT and myocardial infarction: Administration of irbesartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker, abrogates the protective role of an ADSC-derived cell sheet in a rat model of MI [245], suggesting a role of angiotensin-II in these processes and demonstrating the central role of diffusible factors in these treatments, opening the possibility of recapitulating the beneficial effects of patches by a direct administration of the relevant paracrine factors in vivo.
