CTLA4 and neoplasm: Checkpoint blockade immunotherapy (CBI) offers the broadest form of anti-tumor immunity with antibodies targeting the programmed death 1 (PD1)/PD1 ligand 1 (PD-L1) axis systemically administered alone or in combination with antibodies targeting cytotoxic T lymphocyte antigen (CTLA-4), with the expectation that these therapies direct immune responses against tumor-associated antigens (TAA) or tumor neoantigens.
