Indeed, recently there has been a proposal to introduce the concept of a Li-Fraumeni Spectrum that includes incidental findings of lower penetrance variants, a broader classification of heritable TP53-related cancer (hTP53rc) syndromes and those who have ‘phenotypic LFS’—that is, they have the cancer incidence and family history but without a known genetic driver [8,9]. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is cancer.
