In addition to the higher levels of expansion in the striatum and lower levels of expansion in the cerebellum of SCA1 and SCA2 patients mentioned above, HD patients show similarly elevated levels of expansion in the striatum, as well as in tissues like the liver that show high levels of expansion in mouse models (Pinto et al., 2020; Kennedy et al., 2003; Swami et al., 2009; Telenius et al., 1994; De Rooij et al., 1995).
