Tocilizumab, a monoclonal antibody which blocks the IL6 receptor and therefore the IL6 pathway, has emerged as an essential therapeutic to intervene in the inflammatory pathway of CRS and has been critical in the success of CART cell therapy by enabling the successful management of life-threatening toxicities without long-term impact on CART cell efficacy (31). The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is congenital rubella syndrome.
