Decreased levels of miR-20a (73) and miR-21 (74, 75) exacerbate the RA process by stimulating the NLRP3 inflammasome pathway and increasing STAT3 expression, respectively, while decreasing STAT5 expression, all of which are associated with the imbalance of Th17/Treg cells. Here, STAT3 is linked to rheumatoid arthritis.
