Hoffmann et al. (2016) reported the same fbiA D49Y mutation and the R175H mutation following DLM therapy. Schena et al. (2016) reported the occurrence of various termination mutations in ddn (W88STOP; n = 3 MDR isolates) and fbiA (K250STOP; n = 1 XDR isolate) mutations in patients with no prior exposure to DLM. Another mutation, G104S, in fgd1 was reported in pre-XDR-TB clinical isolate after 3 months of DLM treatment (Ghodousi et al., 2019). More recently, Wen et al. (2019) documented the E249K fbiA mutation with high-level DLM resistance in MDR- and XDR-TB clinical isolates. Here, FGD1 is linked to tuberculosis.
