Alongside the functions mentioned previously, resveratrol could not only effectively attenuate the release of inflammatory cytokines from human bronchial smooth muscle cells (HASMCs) in COPD (Knobloch et al., 2010; Knobloch et al., 2014), but also inhibit the NF-κB, TNF-α, and MMP-9-associated pathways, simultaneously slowing the dysfunction of dendritic cells (DCs) in patients with COPD (Wang et al., 2015; Liu et al., 2016). This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
