Toxic Aβ peptide can light a fire in NLRP3 inflammasome and eventually induce AD pathology and tissue damage, while inhibition of NLRP3 could largely decrease Aβ deposition, alleviate deterioration of neuronal function, and protect from memory loss, cognitive function in AD transgenic mouse model (Tan et al., 2013; Dempsey et al., 2017). Here, NLRP3 is linked to Alzheimer disease.
