The Delta subunit-selective compound DS2, a positive allosteric modulator of extrasynaptic δ-containing GABAA receptors (Jensen et al., 2013), has demonstrated neuroprotective properties after photothrombosis and, to some extent, the treatment exerted functional recovery following stroke by attenuation of the NF-κB response (Neumann et al., 2019). Here, NFKB1 is linked to stroke disorder.
