Exclusion criteria were as follows: 1 other significant respiratory diseases, including asthma, tuberculosis, bronchiectasis, and pulmonary fibrosis; 2 ischemic heart disease, such as a history of coronary heart disease, acute heart failure or acute attack of chronic heart failure, and acute myocardial infarction; 3 malignancy; 4 autoimmune diseases; 5 HIV infection; 6 patients who had hospitalized in the previous 2 weeks; and 7 other inflammatory conditions or inflammatory processes that could be associated with abnormal sTREM-1, OPN, PCT, Neu, EOS, and CRP levels.
