c-Abl has been reported as a central signaling kinase in different neurodegenerative disorders including Alzheimer’s (Alvarez et al., 2004; Cancino et al., 2008), Parkinson’s (Ko et al., 2010), Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) (Imamura et al., 2017) and Niemann Pick type C (NPC) disease (Klein et al., 2011; Contreras et al., 2020), among others (Yanez et al., 2020). The gene discussed is ABL1; the disease is Parkinson disease.
