TGM2 and type 1 diabetes mellitus: The method used for screening is still the measurement of anti-tTG [42]. A study was conducted in Finland with a cohort of 520 children between 0 and 17 years old with BPCD, which were divided into two groups depending on CD detected at T1DM surveillance by serological screening and the ones diagnosed with CD because of clinical suspicion. It was proven that in the serological screening group, the patients were less affected by clinical symptoms and decreased growth than the ones diagnosed after clinical suspicion.
