We cultured CD4+ T cells with the supernatant of pyroptotic BMDMs in vitro, and the resulting T cells had a stronger ability to secrete IL-17A, indicating that GSDMD-related pyroptosis in macrophages could promote T cells differentiate into Th17, which may contribute to skin fibrosis in scleroderma. The gene discussed is IL17A; the disease is scleroderma.
