GLP1R and chronic kidney disease: The treatment guidelines clearly state weak recommendations in a number of scenarios: against starting GLP-1 receptor agonists or SGLT2 inhibitors for patients with three or fewer cardiovascular risk factors without established cardiovascular disease (CVD) or chronic kidney disease (CKD); starting SGLT2 inhibitors and against starting GLP-1 receptor agonists for patients with more than three cardiovascular risk factors without established CVD or CKD; for starting SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1 receptor agonists; for patients with established CVD or CKD.
