To clarify if the oxidative function was improved using mitochondria-targeting agents we analyzed the gene expression of the mitochondria-specific enzymes Cytochrome C (CytC) and Cytochrome B (CytB) and found that only the former was significantly reduced in the muscle of the tumor-bearing mice, whereas MitoQ did not provide any protective effect (Figure 4C).
