The level of A-SAA monomer was significantly higher in the HCC group (3.8 ± 4.6 fold) when compared to that in the hepatitis (1 ± 1.2 fold, P = 0.0002) and the LC (1 ± 1.5 fold, P = 0.0008) groups (Fig. 1b). The gene discussed is SAA2; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
