LIFR and age-related macular degeneration: Out of these 25 receptors, 6 have the strongest evidence of relevance to choroid vasculature, either because they are targets of approved AMD drugs (KDR and its co-receptor NRP1), are associated with increased AMD risk in GWAS studies (CFH)23 , or have been shown to regulate choroid angiogenesis in our separate experimental paper15 (LIFR, IL6ST).
