This study found that LEPR rs1137101 G carriers had two times higher risk of total cholesterol levels ≥200 mg/dl (OR = 2.1, 95 % CI 1.15–3.8; p = 0.008), AG/GG had a high risk of hypercholesterolemia (OR = 9.4, 95 % CI 2.1–41.5; p = 0.003). Here, LEPR is linked to familial hypercholesterolemia.
