(2021) very recently have demonstrated that pharmacological inhibition of BACE1 using MK-8931 causes reprogramming of tumor-promoting macrophages (pTAMs) into tumor-suppressive macrophages (sTAMs) and suppression of tumor growth in glioblastoma and, therefore, using AD drugs in the treatment of human cancers can be predicted (Martinez-Usatorre and De Palma, 2021; Figure 2).
