VEGFA and neuropathy, small fiber: An impairment in NGF signaling may therefore support the “small-fiber neuropathy” described in humans (Sima 2003; Ebenezer and Polydefkis 2014), while a VEGF signaling impairment may affect angiogenesis (Okonkwo et al. 2020), and both of these factors may be responsible for delayed wound healing in diabetic mice.
