The over-expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines, including IL-1β, TNFα, IL8, and IFNs-α, that was observed in this study has been described in other in vitro cell models, such as the neuroblastoma line SHSY-5Y, primary human fibroblast-like synoviocytes (HFLS), monocyte-derived macrophages, and phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA)-differentiated U937 macrophages [41, 47–49]. The gene discussed is CXCL8; the disease is neuroblastoma.
