RBL2 and neoplasm: Fig 3 illustrates a possible involvement of Rb2 acetylation in cell cycle regulation. As have already been discussed diminishing Rbl2 acetylation, also abrogates its phosphorylation potential; suggests an additional regulatory apparatus for cell cycle control. If that is the case, deregulated Rbl2 acetylation profiles in various tumors may also be expected. Our preliminary data supports this hypothesis, where abnormally high Rbl2 acetylation in tumor tissues has been observed [25].
