In particular, after excluding the one control subject, the following progesterone‐related changes were less prominent in PCOS compared to controls: progesterone concentration (ratio of ratios 0.59 [95% CI, 0.40–0.88]; Bonferroni‐corrected p = 0.034); LH pulse mass (ratio of ratios 0.36 [95% CI, 0.18–0.73]; Bonferroni‐corrected p = 0.013); pulsatile LH secretion (ratio of ratios 0.39 [95% CI, 0.18–0.86]; Bonferroni‐corrected p = 0.045); and mean FSH (ratio of ratios 0.78 [95% CI, 0.63–0.95]; Bonferroni‐corrected p = 0.050). This evidence concerns the gene PLOD1 and polycystic ovary syndrome.
