Similar relationships among SCAP, SREBF1, SREBF2, LPCAT3, and ABCG8 were observed in this cohort (Figure 7B), suggesting that there exists the pathway via the SCAP/SREBP/LXR/LPCAT3 axis in human NASH also and that its downregulation may be involved in the pathogenesis of advanced burned-out NASH. This evidence concerns the gene SCAP and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
