SMCO1 and colorectal carcinoma: SNP rs11926701 (P = 9.23 X 10–9) is a missense variant located in SMCO1 (Single-Pass Membrane Protein with Coiled-Coli Domains 1) which is known to promote hepatocyte proliferation and cell growth by regulating the expression of JUN, MYC, CCND1, and CCNA2. In addition, we also detected two suggestive functional variants for CRC (1.02 X 10–6 < P < 1.00 X 10–4) in HLA-C (Major Histocompatibility Complex, Class I, C) and NUTM1 (NUT Midline Carcinoma Family Member 1) (Table 1).
