Examining the overall infection scenario, we observed a significant reduction in HIV viral load log10 (p< 0.0001), a significant reduction in CD8+ T lymphocyte count (p< 0.0001), and an absolute increase in CD4+ T lymphocytes (p< 0.0001) after starting ART, over 24 months of observations (Table 1; Figure 1A). This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and infection.
