According to the Oncomine database (https://www.oncomine.org) (Rhodes et al., 2004), which displays the expression profiles of multiple types of cancer compared to corresponding normal tissues, the AKR1C1 mRNA levels in cancer samples were significantly higher than those in normal tissues, especially in lung carcinoma samples (Figure 3A). The gene discussed is AKR1C1; the disease is lung carcinoma.
