Increasing evidence has shown that chemerin is closely associated with cardiovascular diseases; in addition to regulating systemic blood pressure and promoting intimal hyperplasia, chemerin contributes to angiogenesis and vascular remodeling in hypertension (Kunimoto et al., 2015; Xiong et al., 2016; Liu et al., 2019; Wen et al., 2019). This evidence concerns the gene RARRES2 and cardiovascular disorder.
