IL1B and Cognitive impairment: Significantly, after the mediation analysis, we also found that the 25(OH)D3 deficiency could increase the risk of cognitive impairment by a mechanism partly involving inflammation, which could explain 25.4 (IL-1β) and 17.5% (IL-18) of effect of the risk of cognitive impairment related to 25(OH)D3 deficiency, and be also applicable to different domains of cognition.
