Though ASA is a variant of polymyositis associated with polymyositis that was first reported in 1976 [12], it belongs to a family of rare systemic autoimmune diseases and there is a classical triad of myositis, ILD, and arthritis associated with the presence of the antibody directed against tRNA synthetase (an enzyme involved in protein synthesis in many tissues, including muscle and lung) [13]. This evidence concerns the gene ARSA and Arthritis.
