Disorders of metabotropic glutamate (mGlu) receptors and neurotrophins have significant negative effects on neuroplasticity, leading to depression, but LAC regulate brain type 2 metabotropic glutamate (mGlu2) receptors and N-methyl-D-aspartic acid (NMDA) receptors to induce antidepressant effect (83–85). This evidence concerns the gene BDNF and depressive disorder.
