Subgroup analyses on the basis of age demonstrated that IL6 rs1800795 variant was associated with a decreased risk of childhood allergic diseases in dominant comparison, allele comparison, heterozygote comparison, and homozygote comparison (dominant comparison: OR = 0.28, 95% CI = 0.16, 0.51, p < 0.0001, allele comparison: OR = 0.55, 95% CI = 0.36, 0.83, p = 0.004, heterozygote comparison: OR = 0.28, 95% CI = 0.13, 0.62, p = 0.002, homozygote comparison: OR = 0.33, 95% CI = 0.21, 0.52, p < 0.00001). Here, IL6 is linked to allergic disease.
