It has been reported that FADS1 (rs174537) polymorphism had a remarkable correlation with diabetes type 2 among Iranian cases [260]. Low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) is down-regulated by PCSK9, which induces lysosomal degradation of LDLR in both pancreatic and liver cells. This evidence concerns the gene LDLR and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
