Current strategies for the treatment of advanced BRAF-mutant melanoma include targeted therapies in the form of BRAF/MEK inhibitors (BRAF/MEKi) and immune checkpoint inhibitors (CPI), including antibodies to programmed cell death-1 (anti-PD-1), programmed cell death ligand-1 (anti-PD-L1) and cytotoxic T lymphocyte antigen (anti-CTLA4).
