PIK3C2A and coronary artery disorder: In a previous study, miR-206 was found to be markedly upregulated in peripheral blood EPCs from patients with CAD, and miR-206 downregulated phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate 3-kinase catalytic subunit type 2 alpha (PIK3C2α) expression to repress the migratory and vasculogenic abilities of EPCs and therefore result in the pathophysiology of CAD [19].
