Lin (33) and others also showed in their study that EF24, a synthetic analogue of curcumin, was found to upregulate HMOX1 by increasing MDA, ROS, and ferric ion levels in cells, which in turn inhibited GPX4 activity and induced ferroptosis in osteosarcoma cells, which also flanked the results of our study and suggested that low HMOX1 expression may be a monitoring marker of poor prognosis in KIRC patients. Here, GPX4 is linked to osteosarcoma.
