Kraus et al. examined the expression levels of 90 well-annotated lncRNAs in 30 brain specimens from 20 PD patients and 10 healthy controls for the first time, and discovered that H19 upstream conserved 1 and 2 were significantly down-regulated in PD patients, while lincRNA -p21, Malat1, SNHG1, and TncRNA were significantly up-regulated (Kraus et al., 2017). The gene discussed is MALAT1; the disease is Parkinson disease.
