H19 and diabetes mellitus: LncRNAs can play several roles in the biological processes such as proliferation (PCNA-AS1), migration (H19), epigenetic regulation (HOTAIR), cell cycle (MALAT), cell death (MEG3), invasion (lncRNA-ATB), angiogenesis (ANRIL), autophagy (H19), apoptosis (PTENP1) and metastasis (HULC); as well as are found to be associated with several diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, atherosclerotic coronary artery disease, diabetes, neurodegenerative disorders, and many types of cancers (32–35).
